Are you tired? Do you snore?
What is Sleep Apnea?
Sleep apnea is a common condition that occurs when the muscles of throat relax during sleep, obstructing the airway and making breathing difficult and noisy (snoring). Paused breathing can result in a drop of blood oxygen levels. Since oxygen is fuel for the heart, these frequent pauses can lead to heart disease, including heart attack or stroke.
Know your risk for sleep apnea.
Knowing your risk is important and can help you on your quest for better sleep and better health. Take this quick questionnaire to see if you are at risk for sleep apnea.*
*Taking the sleep questionnaire is available at no-cost. Insurance is not required for the sleep questionnaire. Insurance is required for any optional sleep apnea testing and physician appointments that may follow.
What happens if I am at high-risk?
MedBridge Healthcare provides comprehensive sleep programs which can include sleep screening, testing, and follow up.
If questionnaire results indicate you are at a higher risk for sleep apnea, you will be given optional next steps to pick up a home sleep test kit at a participating Quest Diagnostics or you will be recommended to have a consultation with a board-certified sleep physician. Physician consultations and sleep tests are covered using your current health insurance benefits.**
**Sleep tests are billed through your current insurance and are verified prior to testing. Physician consultations with Board Certified Sleep Physicians are also prior authorized through your current insurance. If you are recommended to consult with a board-certified sleep physician, they may recommend you complete an in-lab sleep study.
***This is not a telemedicine appointment. This is a medical history and symptom review by a physician that takes approximately 7 minutes to complete.
